Have You Thought about parenting?
No matter how many How-to-Parent books someone reads or parenting podcasts they listen to, no one is ever prepared for parenting. It’s challenging and rewarding at the same time.
If the idea of parenting crossed your mind, take a moment to answer the following questions. Depending on your answers, we can offer some much-needed assistance.
- Do I have the financial support of my partner or parents?
- Where will I live?
- Can I finish my education or continue employment?
- How can I afford to raise a child?
- Is there anyone available to help me physically and emotionally?
Are There Resources Available?
Successful parenting requires the assistance of others. We’ve partnered closely with community organizations to provide several services a new mother needs. Plus, we offer many free services for parents at our Family Life Center.
We can help you receive assistance with housing, food, childcare, and material needs. Our counselors work closely with you to establish the services you require.
Classes and Referrals
In addition, we provide prenatal classes and pregnancy counseling so you know what to expect during pregnancy. And we’ll refer you to an OB/GYN for proper prenatal care.
You can also take parenting classes and learn life skills for a brighter future. When you take classes, you can “shop” at our baby store known as Common Ground.
Life’s Emergencies
The Sycamore House Pregnancy & Family Life Center team understands that sometimes life gets the better of us. If you find yourself in an emergency situation, we can help you. We can provide a mother or family facing unexpected hard times with much-needed supplies such as diapers and formula.
Men Are Welcome Too
We offer classes for new fathers if your partner is involved in raising the children. He can also participate in our life skills classes.
Schedule a free appointment to discuss your situation and how we can assist you as you continue your pregnancy and move on to parenting. We’re here for you.
